2018 Homegrown Throwdown

The Throwdown will feature 24 bands, 5 nights and a whole lot of rock and roll. Being a successful band is more than being good musically. HOW IT WORKS:

A panel of objective judges will select up to 24 finalists to compete. Your band will be judged live, American Idol style by a panel of music professionals. Judging is based on the following criteria:

• 50% Judges scores
• 25% Ticket presales
• 25% Crowd Votes

Each category is scored on a 1-100 scale. The judges will be looking for a combination of musicianship, stage presence, crowd interaction and professionalism. As each person enters the event, they will be given one voting slip. Also, if your band is selected to perform, you will be given 100 tickets. The amount of tickets you sell prior to doors opening the night of your performance is your score out of 100. Advance tickets are $10. Your band keeps $2 from every ticket sold and will also receive 2 drink tickets per band member.

One band from each week will advance to the finals on February 16th. Additionally, two wild card bands will be selected to advance as well. Wild cards will be selected by the two highest average scores over the initial four weeks. Winners will be announced on February 3rd on both our website and social media properties.

Bands of all ages are welcome to compete. Genres should be genres that at least loosely fit the genres played on Q106 which plays active rock, hard rock, metal and even some classic rock.

We want your interpretation!
• Each band is judged on crowd votes (25%), ticket sales (25%) and judges scores (50%), so bring your friends out! Judges are basing scores on musicianship, song writing, stage presence, crowd interaction and professionalism.
